Site Engineer — Structures

Set out, inspect and sign off structural works on a live logistics park — 3,100 piles, superflat slabs, and 11,000 tonnes of steel.

Apply for this role Posted 4 August 2026

What you will be doing

Structures on a live logistics park: piling, pile caps, industrial slabs to FM2 tolerance, and pre-engineered steel going up at a peak of 640 tonnes a week.

You will spend most of your day at the workface, not at a desk. The work is setting out, checking, and having the uncomfortable conversation when something is not right before it gets covered up.

The part of this job that matters most

Reinforcement inspection is a hold point here. That means work physically stops until you sign, and it means you will sometimes be the reason a pour does not happen today.

We back that. Nobody at Qundus has been leaned on to pass an inspection to keep a programme, and if it ever happens you go straight to the technical director.

What you will learn

Hot-weather concreting properly — ice in the mix, night pours, retarder dosage, thermocouples at three depths. It is a genuine specialism and the Kingdom is the place to learn it.

You will also learn how to read a federated model against what is physically in front of you, which is a more useful skill than either one alone.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Set out structural works and verify against the federated model, not just the drawings
  • Inspect reinforcement before every pour and refuse the ones that are not ready
  • Witness concrete testing — slump, temperature, cube sampling — and log it properly
  • Raise NCRs when something is wrong, and see them closed with evidence
  • Keep the as-built markup current weekly rather than at the end
  • Brief the crew each morning on what is happening in their area today

What we need from you

  • Three years minimum on structural works on active sites
  • Confident with total station setting-out and level checks
  • Can read a rebar schedule and spot what is missing without being told
  • Bachelor's in Civil or Structural Engineering; SCE registration

Helpful, not essential

  • Hot-weather concreting experience in the Gulf
  • Navisworks or Revizto for clash and constructability review
  • Piling or deep foundations background
